Iman Shumpert – “Dear Kendrick”

Since everyone is treating Kendrick Lamar like Roxanne Shante with the answer records, the Knicks’ very own Iman Shumpert has his say on this new track entitled “Dear Kendrick.” The track is produced by J-Muzick.

It’ll be hard for anyone to top Joell Ortiz and Lupe’s offering, but this is nice. Shump’s bars are getting better with every track.

Iman Shumpert – “Versace (Freestyle)

No Metta World Peace on this? Iman Shumpert returns to the booth for a freestyle over the Migos underground hit. Among the topics covered is his interaction with Knicks fans on social media, and last season’s return from ACL surgery. Maybe we’ll get a new Shump mixtape before the year is out.

Freeway ft. Tek, Rasheed Wallace and Iman Shumpert – “Hol Fam”

Iman Shumpert isn’t the only member of the squad that has bars. Rasheed Wallace joins Shump and Tek of Smif N Wessun for the closing track off Freeway’s just released mixtape Black Santa. Too bad Jason Kidd couldn’t get in on this, too.

Freeway’s mixtape is available HERE.

[Mixtape] Iman Shumpert – “Th3 #Post90s”

Before the Knicks take on the Chicago Bulls tonight, treat yourself to Iman Shumpert’s debut mixtape Th3 #Post90s. Shump has did his homework — the tape has its assorted tributes to the 90s (and even 80s) on tracks sampling Arrested Development to Run DMC. But Shumpert doesn’t rely on reliable samples; he has an assorted of original beats with soulful and boom bap arrangements over the typical trap beats.

Iman Shumpert is official. Hope he continues honing his talents in the booth.

[Video] Iman Shumpert ft. PhlyyB – “Anarchy”

Our second year “Rook” Iman Shumpert is using NYC as the backdrop for his latest video “Anarchy.” Compare this to his last joint and you can hear the improvement in Shump’s delivery. I’m calling it now — Shumpert at some point (hopefully next year), will be doing the theme song for the Knicks. I’d love to hear an official “Knickstape Mixtape” before then. Get on it Shump while you still have some free time before you start locking down the perimeter in January.

Iman Shumpert ft. Chrisette Michele – “Supaphly”

Iman Shumpert’s keeping busy behind the mic while finishing up the last months of his ACL rehab. Up until now, Shump’s rhymes have been solo joints and freestyles. Now he’s getting some big established names, having hooked up with the talented Chrisette Michele for “Supaphly.” So what’s the verdict? Not the worse track you’ll hear, but far from memorable. Chrisette’s voice sounds great as usual, but the production and overdone swag rap doesn’t help matters. Your thoughts?
